A follow-up twitter post was posted saying:

"We don’t know when a return to large, global, in-person events will be practical, but we’re hopeful to be able to put on some form of Fortnite World Cup in 2021."

Fortnite World Cup first came in July 2019 with a grand prize pool of $40 million given to the top players and a cool $3 million prize winnings for the solo mode competition winner. The 2019 Fortnite World Cup reportedly pulled in in 2 million concurrent viewers!

Epic Games say that the Fortnite Champion Series will still run for seasons in 2020. Cash Cups will also return.

Epic will be hosting official broadcasts for the Fortnite Champion Series.
